| There is a lot more to life at St John's and within the Church Family and wider family eg the affiliated local school, than many of us hear about.
Are you involved in:
- maintaining the fabric
- running the church centre
- teaching Young Church
- running a prayer and intercession group
- doing pastoral care
- visiting baptismal families
- following Christian issues in politics
- helping in the school
- organizing social events or fundraising events for charity
- choosing the hymns
- preaching
- clearing the graveyard
- organising home groups
- leading Bible studies
.. ?
Share with us.. eg what is involved, how or why you got involved, how long you have been doing it, what are the highs and lows of the activity, any funny stories.. eg I heard last night about a polite note being left on the sleeping bags in the church porch asking them to please be moved temporarily for a wedding.. which worked, apparently. (I am quite sure God has a sense of humour. we do not need to be pompous and solemn all the time...)
Maybe something you have got out of your recent Bible study, either at home or in a group, that would be encouraging to share? Praise God for an answer to prayer? A thought provoking response to a sermon?
Do you have a life outside church? Is there something happening in your family or at work we should know about? It is easy for newsletters, as with prayers, to descend to a list of needs and pleas for help. Just as prayer should begin with praise and worship generally, so there must also be things to celebrate or laugh over in our lives, as well as needs to pray for and jobs that need filling?
WE NEED TO HEAR FROM YOU.
Please contact the church office, and they will pass it all on to the compilers.
