Here to Listen
Here to Listen is a service offered by trained volunteers from St John’s church for people living within the parish of Rowlands Castle who are feeling lonely, socially isolated or just need someone to speak to about something that is troubling them.
It is open to people of all faiths and none. The volunteers are simply there to listen. They are non-judgemental and are not there to offer advice.
Details of discussions are strictly confidential unless further professional help is requested. Visits may result in ‘befriending’ but this is seen as a natural progression. The volunteers are not there to replace social or health care specialists nor the work of any other support organisation, but to complement them.
What to do next
If you would like someone from the team to visit you or if you are concerned about someone locally who might like one of our team to visit please contact us using this confidential email service or contact Revd Vickie Morgan.
